HARTFORD, CT, April 11, 2024 – Virtus Investment Partners (NYSE: VRTS), which operates a multi-boutique asset management business, announced that the Virtus Systematic Emerging Markets Opportunities strategy available to institutional clients has been honored as a recipient of an AsianInvestor Asset Management Award 2024 for demonstrating strong investment performance through December 31, 2023.
The award, in the Emerging Markets Equity Asset Class category, recognizes the strategy’s growth and progress as measured by both qualitative and quantitative criteria. The strategy is managed by Kunal Ghosh, chief investment officer, senior managing director, and portfolio manager and Lu Yu, CFA, CIPM, managing director and lead portfolio manager of Virtus Systematic, an affiliated manager of Virtus.
Virtus Systematic employs a time-tested scientific investment process to identify inefficiencies in the market and their AI-enhanced natural language processing model identifies human behavioral biases in subjective content, which allows them to complement stock selection with a dynamic risk management approach and qualitative checks using a human overlay. “We build an all-cap core portfolio with high conviction at the stock level, focusing on securities that exhibit higher growth forecasts, lower valuations, and reduced volatility versus the MSCI Emerging Markets Index,” Ghosh said.
