New collaboration focused on developing diverse leaders for the finance industry
HARTFORD, CT, November 23, 2021 –Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTS), which
operates a multi-boutique asset management business, today joined 23 other wealth and asset
management firms to support The Equity Collective, a diversity focused collaboration dedicated to
educating, empowering, and developing the next generation of diverse leaders in the finance industry.
The Equity Collective, a two-year sponsorship commitment organized by Morgan Stanley, will
fund three nationwide programs:
- The Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s CareerLaunch program, a job- and career-readiness program with the ability to reach 4.6 million youths ages 13 to 18 years old;
- The virtual recruiting platform HIVE Diversity, which focuses on internship and entry-level
placement opportunities, as well as building earlier and more equitable pipelines through
virtual programming to expose all candidates to careers that exist within the industry; and
- A new financial literacy program for college athletes sponsored by Team IMPACT, which
matches college athletes with children facing serious and chronic illnesses.
Through The Equity Collective partnership, Virtus and the other participating companies will
collaborate with local efforts of each of the three organizations.
Morgan Stanley, which was the founding sponsor of The Equity Collective, conducted research
among diverse groups of high-net-worth investors and entrepreneurs that identified opportunities for
the financial services industry to address racial inequality.
